Carissa Clay grew up in Springville, Utah and began dancing at age seven. Her foundational training is in classical ballet, and included time at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet where she had the chance to perform with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. She recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in Dance. During her undergraduate experience, she was involved in BYU’s Ballet Showcase, Theatre Ballet, and DancEnsemble companies as a performer, choreographer, and presidency member. Carissa furthered her education through international study programs, training in styles including ballet, contemporary, aerial dance, latin jazz, and Gaga technique in Florence, Amsterdam, The Hague, Vienna, and Bern. She is now pursuing a masters degree in Dance Science through the University of Bern, Switzerland. This is her first season with WCDC and she is thrilled by the opportunity to keep moving and sharing the beauty of dance with the community.
